When is a substantiated expert opinion required?

Sometimes disagreements also arise in the spelling of names in Latin (such as Nataliya-Nataliia, Oleg-Oleh, etc.). In this case, the reason may be a change in the official transliteration.

Surnames are often written differently, especially if there are several documents, some issued in Ukrainian, others in Russian. This can cause certain difficulties when submitting documents (and sometimes even refusal to accept documents due to a discrepancy) in institutions of foreign countries.

To avoid such situations, it is necessary to establish the identity of one or another name, surname or proper name. It is for this purpose that a substantiated expert opinion is issued, in which:

  • the identity of surnames, first names and other proper names that differ in spelling, grammar or structural features are established;
  • the identity of surnames, first names and other proper names written in different languages, etc. is established.
