What are the differences between a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad with a contactless electronic medium and a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad that does not contain a contactless electronic medium?

In the right part of the cover of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad with a contactless electronic medium, a contactless electronic medium is implanted, which meets the requirements of the ISO/IEC 14443A standard for recording and reading data and ICAO requirements for electronic documents.

ISO/IEC 14443A is a standard that describes the frequency range, modulation method and protocol for exchanging short-range (up to 10 cm) contactless passive cards on magnetically coupled inductances.

ICAO — International Civil Aviation Organization — the International Organization of Civil Aviation, a specialized agency of the United Nations that establishes international standards for civil aviation and coordinates its development with the aim of increasing safety and efficiency.

A special symbol indicating the presence of a contactless electronic medium is placed in the lower part of the front cover of such a passport. A passport of a citizen of Ukraine for going abroad with a contactless electronic medium is more protected compared to a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for going abroad that does not contain a contactless electronic medium.
